We are a very informal group who meet on the first Tuesday of the month in the Macmillan centre at the Queen Alexander Hospital. Here we can share our cancer experiences, introduce you to members who may well have had the same experience as you and offer caring and emotional support.
We can talk about anything at all that is worrying us, we invite medical professionals to give talks, organise complimentary therapies for ladies needing a treat and give advice on where to go to ask for financial help whilst receiving treatment.
Those of us who are now well enough do try and raise money to (a) support our group and (b) provide equipment to the Portsmouth breast cancer team to help women such as us to get well; however it is NOT compulsory to raise money and no one is pressurised to do so.
But most of all we can, and do, laugh…..A LOT!!
We do our very best to control the disease, not let the disease control us. Come and see if we can help you too.
